Downtow St Petersburg Skyline
I shot this late one night in downtown St Pete.
I'd gone out to shoot this with a close friend of mine who was a painter. He had been commissioned to paint the St Pete skyline, and he wanted me to take a reference photo for him.
We searched high and low for a good spot to take it from, climbed onto the roof of his truck, climbed up light polls and otherwise probably looked crazy from an onlookers viewpoint- all to catch an unobstructed view of the St Pete skyline at night, without ugly parking signs, cars or other buildings in our way.
45 minutes in we finally found the perfect spot, standing on a sea wall, well away from the marina.
You can see Orion's belt star constellation in the sky, as well as the classic Vinoy Hotel in the far right!
This is a 5-shot composite, 30 seconds each picture, to make the perfect jigsaw puzzle of a skyline panorama with perfect sharpness and clarity!
